Club Undergoing Massive Remodel

Hey there fellow members and prospective members,

I just thought I'd share with you what has been going on with our club these past weeks. I've set as my goal for my Presidency, apart from having quality club outings, diners, and guest speakers, to REMODEL the club. With the help of all of you I think we can have a new and improved Club House by June 2009. I'm calling this project the Miami Sport Fishing Club 2.0.

The most eminent part of this massive overhaul right now, is the back wall and stage. I've already started to take down that god-awful, 1965 wood paneling, and removed all the chairs that were under the stage in order to move the stage forward to complete the project. We will then Mudd, Sand, and Paint the back wall.

After the back wall is done, we will begin to work on the floors. I was fortunate enough to find 500sqft of Wood Laminate for only $100.........These are pictures of how the club could begin to look. We need to find a black commercial carpet to cover the other 800sqft of the main room. If you have any contacts in the flooring or carpet business, please let me know.

Finally, after these things are done, we will continue with redoing the bar, making a nice Kitchen in the garage and expanding the bathroom.

The last and final project will be to redo the upstairs. We have to wait on the association to finally fix the roof so we can start on that.

Again, I think that we could have a new club by the end of my presidency and it is the one goal that I have set for myself and I plan on seeing it thru.

Captain Ray Rosher and Future Events

Hi Everyone,

First off, let me thank each and every one of you. The turn out last night was great. Second, I want to thank Capt. Ray Rosher for coming out and answering every question we had and still being a great sport when we grilled him about the effectiveness of certain baits. I'm sure with what was said and taught last night we'll be able to increase our catches and have better days on the water.

I will be editing the video that was filmed last night in order to put together a how-to or a recap video for the club and Capt. Rosher. Don't forget to check out www.MissBritt.com and www.randrtackle.com/bait1.html for the sabiki rigs he was telling us about.

I also want to remind everyone that Art Sapp will be coming to the club in November and we will have a Wahoo outing too. The full moon is on the 13th, which is a Saturday. I was thinking about having the outing, either the weekend before or the one of the 13th. Here is a link to a video that I shot last year in November with Danny, Eric, and Mario. Eric said, "This has been the best day of fishing, I've ever had in November." Hopefully, we can have a repeat.

Finally, I will be organizing a trip to fish Key West/Tortugas in December. It's a dicey month with strong winds on most weekends but if we can have everything ready to go and just go I'm sure we'll have a great time. Again thanks for coming out last night. I appreciate all the help from Eric, Danny, Wayne, Gil, Orlando and everyone else. See you next Wednesday.

P.S.: Who's fishing this weekend.
